Research seminar on city logistics held in Newcastle
25. January 2013Upon invitation of Prof. Ghanim Putrus from the E-Mobility NSR partner Northumbria University, and in a connection with a research project meeting, Dr Dominique Breuil, Directeur de la Recherche, EIGSI LaRochelle et EIGSI Casablanca- Ecoles d'Ingénieurs généralistes, France, gave a research seminar on “City Logistics and Electro-Mobility“ to Engineering and Environment stakeholders at Northumbria University on the 8th January 2013.
In his lecture, the expert, who is involved in a range of European project on EVs and electric batteries, covered issues such as the role and importance of city logistics (finance, environment / pollution, city life…) and main actions for improving efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint in this domain. Dr Breuil discussed if EVs may serve as stand-alone solution or should be combined with other modes of transportion and showcased experimentation projects in several cities. Moreover, the expert pointed out the difficulties and drivers for electro logistics, elaborated on the evolution e-logistics and pointed out upcoming research.
