2nd North European EV Rally
16. April 201228 April - 1 May 2012
The second edition of the North European EV rally is a challenging test of reliability for the approximately 50 EVs that are subject to various tests on their way from Tønder, Denmark to Hamburg, Germany. Also, this year’s edition will be marked by the presence of selected European journalists who will track the e-rally and continuously report on the event.
The second North European EV rally will open with a ‘special prologue in the Danish city of Tønder, where the EVs will undergo a reliability/endurance test in the surroundings of Vidåslusen, driving in a protected natural area where only EVs are allowed to drive. The rally itself will then start on the 29 April 2012 and will after some stops end up on 1 May 2012 in Hamburg, Germany, at the E-Collection Showroom in the Hafen City. The E-Mobility NSR project supports this rallye as the E-Collection Showroom is also the information center of the project.
The various stops along the way to Hamburg are meant for recharging the EVs and drivers’ accommodation, but will also be used as exhibition platforms where all EVs will be on display for spectators and locals in general. Along the way the driving will be logged, and the drivers and the EVs are subjected to respectively various orientation tasks and performance tests. The daily driving range will be approximately 150 km and in total 390 km.
